Okay, here it is, the 5th and final part of my video series on how to start a blog.

If you’ve followed all the videos so far then your blog should be done and pretty much ready to go. Now it’s time to start making money with it.

So how do you do that?

Well, there are 2 ways I do that with my own blogs, and in this final video I’ll show you what they are and how to use the same ideas on your own blog.

Specifically, the 2 methods I’ll show you in this video are:

• affiliate marketing – but not just any affiliate marketing. No. Instead, I’ll show you the very specific way I make affiliate sales with my blogs, and once you know how to use this method you’ll be able to copy me quickly and easily
• list building – this is the one I use on most of my blogs, it’s my favorite way to make money online, and it can be used to sell affiliate products and your own products. See how I make money this way by watching the video

These methods work for me on several blogs and there’s no reason they won’t work for you too.

Time for the 4th part of my “How To Start A Blog” video series. In this part, the focus is on how to get your content up on your blog.

• create a post – this is the most basis and important thing you need to do on any blog, and I’ll show you the quick and easy way to create your posts, including hints on how to handle both your titles and your content
• manage your categories – you need to get this right so that your site is easy to navigate and to help your SEO efforts, and I’ll show you how to create your categories and how to manage them long-term
• manage media content – your blog will need images so that it looks good on the eyes of your visitors, and I’ll show you how to add images to your pages and posts and how to manipulate them to look and appear the way you want them too
• optimize your content for SEO – there are a couple of things you need to get right in each post if you want Google to rank your content high in the search results, and I’ll show you how and what to do to get this right

These are all important areas to get right if you want your blog to reach a big audience, and that’s why you need to check out this video right away and start using what it teaches you from this point on.

This is the 3rd part of my “How To Start A Blog” video guide, and this time I’m gonna be focusing on customising WordPress.

• create menus – if you use StudioPress themes like I do then you need to know how their menus work, and I’ll show you all you need to know. I’ll also show you some tricks to use if you’re using other types of theme
• setup permalinks – permalinks are what create the links to each and every page on your blog, and getting this right is essential if you want to get lots of free search engine traffic
• setup widgets – widgets are crucial if you want to use your site to make money and build a list, so watch me walk you through everything you need to know about them
• install plugins – to get your blog working exactly the way you want you need to use plugins, and I’ll show you where to get them and how to install them the easy way

In this first part, I’ll start with the 3 first steps to getting your blog up and running:

• buying your domain – the first thing you need when you’re starting a blog is your domain name (the web address of your blog), and I’ll buy a domain while you watch so you can copy me when you get yours
• getting your hosting – next you need your hosting (your hosting is the place online where your website resides), and I’ll setup a brand new hosting account while you watch
• setting up your nameservers – finally you’ll need to setup your nameservers to let your domain and hosting work together, and normally this is tricky, but just watch me in the video and copy what I do and your website will be live in no time
